First record of Athetis rionegrensis (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) attacking soybean and new geographical report in Argentina

The genus Athetis Hübner (Lepidoptera. Noctuidae. Amphipyrinae) comprises numerous species worldwide, two of them recently reported as pests maize in China. This work presents the first record an feeding on soybean eastern region province Córdoba, Argentina. specimens were identified rionegrensis status rev. based external morphology and genitalia characters for both sexes. Furthermore, additional collected La Pampa, Argentina, October, 2021.This was only known to be Alto Valle, Río Negro, therefore these represent outside that province. correct assignment this is confirmed. Finally, implications new are discussed.
